Everybody and their dogs come to cities like London, Paris, Berlin, Moscow, and Rome, but if we head off the beaten path a little, which cities around Europe would be next best to explore? Here are a few ideas that are all high on my bucket list.
Cologne, Germany
Bucharest, Romania
Seville, Spain
Oslo, Norway
Geneva, Switzerland
Have you been to any of these cities? There must be lots of other cities in Europe, off the beaten trail, that you can recommend! Let me know in the comments below!
I mainly avoid big cities because of the crowds. I’ve been to Seville, i found it way better than Madrid and Barcelona though it’s still very crowded. i preferred Granada and Bilbao since there are way less tourists.

Thanks for the info. I really want to visit Bilbao in basque country. Maybe my next trip to Spain will be there. Regarding Seville, it is great to experience Andulusian spain, it has a much different vibe compared to more northern cities like Barcelona.

I’ve been to Geneva, Oslo and Seville on your list, all great cities to visit but Oslo is very expensive. I actually prefer Helsinki to Oslo and have visited often as I like the Finnish lifestyle so much. We are fortunate to have so many interesting cities just a short flight away.

Consider Bruges in West Flanders, Belgium. Really nice old city, though a bit touristy for some. Hehehe.

I also recommend Bruges and Ghent in Belgium! Krakow in Poland is also really great
