  1. i’m so wanting to visit himeji castle. the last time i was in osaka, which was back in 2010, i learned himeji was closed for a renovation project, thus i didn’t have a chance to go. now i was told it is reopened. it’s time to plan for another trip to japan 🙂

    1. I am told that Himeji is now almost full operational. Maybe still some scaffolding at the back (March 2016), but still the best it has been for a long time. It is an incredible castle, full of history – and amazing grounds and gardens too which people often forget about. 🙂

  2. Lovely list and photos. Have been too both Neuschwanstein and Chillion. In fact wrote about the hike I did up the Neuschwanstein on my blog. Chillion we visited this summer when we spent a month in Switzerland.
